Lion President Brad Dano

Hello one and all. As I start my Presidency, I’m reminded of all the truly great presidents I’ve had the honor serving under. I hope to prove myself worthy of leading our club throughout the upcoming year. So now let’s roll-up our sleeves and get down to making this the best year ever.

As usual July is looking like a very busy month for us. We started off with the Senior Pancake Breakfast on July 14th, with Jim and don leading the way. Later that day we cooked hamburgers and hotdogs for some 320 hunger CSD campers, then breakfast the next morning.

Towards the end of this month we have two of my personal favorite events. For starters Lion Dave is leading the way with the ever popular Strauss Festival Parking on July26th-29th. Then Saturday morning July 28th we have the Kohls Child Spree. For those that haven’t worked this event before, I believe this is the most rewarding event we work.

Now for a bit of sad news. On July 20th the Elk Grove and Sutter Lions clubs, family and friends gathered for a celebration of life for Rick Schriver who passed away on June 1st. We will all miss him.

Application for Membership

Lions are in 200 countries and geographic areas. We have 45,000 clubs with over 1.3 million members world wide. We have a dynamic history. We are best known for fighting blindness — it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also volunteer for many different kinds of projects including disaster relief — across many borders. We serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.

    • We hope you will consider joining our club.
    • To become a Lion, you must be of good moral character and good reputation in our community.
    • Membership is by invitation.
    • If you’re interested in being invited to join Lions Club of Elk Grove, you may want to consider some of the following facts about Lionism:
      • Lions are active.
      • Our motto is “We Serve.”
